Obituary

William Joseph Scott (affectionately known as Bill or Scotty), born January 11, 1951, in Braddock, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, at his home in Saint Marys, Georgia, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.

William was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Scott; his children, Jennifer Suggs, Joseph Scott, Amanda Peppers, Jillian Scott, and Larry Anderson; his brothers and sisters, Patty, Dave, Phil, Larry and Peggy; 23 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren, all of whom were the center of his world.

A proud retired United States Marine, William served his country with honor and carried that pride throughout his life. Being a Marine was a core part of who he was. He was also a lifelong fan of Pittsburgh sports and faithfully supported the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates.

William was the most selfless person, always putting others before himself. He loved his family deeply and would drop anything to help them—no matter what. His faith was an important part of his life; he loved God, enjoyed reading, and valued quiet moments of reflection.

Above all else, William will be remembered for his unwavering love, generosity, strength, and devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed and forever loved, but his legacy lives on through the many lives he touched.

Semper Fidelis.
