Wayne Elwood May, 71, of St. Marys, GA passed away at his residence on August 5, 2024.

Wayne was born on July 1, 1953 in Granite City, Illinois to Ardith May and Lilly Doty May. Wayne moved to Camden County in February of 1990. Wayne served in the US NAVY where he was a MA1 and did three tours overseas. He worked for ten years for the St. Marys Police Department and also had a Masters degree in Education where he taught Criminal Justice at Everest University in Jacksonville, FL. He was an AVID St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Mary Jane May of St. Marys, GA. Mother, Lilly Tinker of St. Marys, GA. Sons, Jeremy May (Amanda) of Jacksonville, FL and Bobby May of Columbus, GA. Grandchildren, Anne Elizabeth May, Lucy May, and Carolyn May. The girl's mother, Kate May.
Step-Grandsons, Sam Hughes and Jacob Hughes. Great friends, Charles and Wendy White of St. Marys, GA.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ardith May.

A visitation will be held at Allison Memorial Chapel on Saturday August 24, 2024 from 2-4 pm. Services with military honors will be held on Monday August 26, 2024 at 10:00 am at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
