Theodore (Ted) Peter Wanca, 74, passed away peacefully at home in Kingsland, GA on July 8, 2026.

Ted was born in Jersey City, NJ to Michael and Kathryn Wanca on December 9, 1951

He is survived by his son, Michael Wanca (Traci) of St. Marys, GA and his grandsons, Michael and Christopher Wanca. He is also survived by his brother James and sisters Elizabeth Crocetta, Donna Yavorski and sister-in-law Mary Wanca as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of many years, Linda (nee Jenkins), brother Michael and his sister Kathryn (Kitchie) Drozdowski.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 18, where he was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado. After his time in the service, Ted returned home to Jersey City to raise his family.  He worked for PSE&G in Newark, NJ from which he retired after more than 30 years. In 2017, Ted moved down to Kingsland, GA to be close to his son and grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be planned in the upcoming months.
