Obituary

Stewart Casse Murray, 53, of St. Marys, GA passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at his residence.

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stewart Casse Murray, who left us peacefully on August 3rd 2025 at the age of 53 to his battle with lung cancer. Born July 5, 1972, he was proudly served in the United States Navy from October 28, 1999, to July 2, 2002. —a time that reflected his sense of duty, discipline, and commitment to something greater than himself. His years of service were a source of pride for both him and those who loved him.

Stewart was a devoted husband to Letta, his loving partner in life, and a proud father to his three children: Kaitlyn, Leanna, and Mathew. He also leaves behind his dear sisters, Dina and Chablis, who shared in his life's journey with deep bonds of love and sibling hood.

Stewart lived a life marked by quiet strength, integrity, and deep devotion to his family. Whether offering wise counsel, a steady hand, or simply his calming presence, he was a pillar in the lives of those who knew and loved him. His sense of humor, generous spirit, and unwavering kindness will be remembered and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was also a cherished grandfather, lovingly known as "Papa" to his five grandchildren: Sutton, Sylvia, Owen, Stella, and Ollie. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with them, sharing stories, laughter, and creating lasting memories. Stewart found joy in the simple things—being with his family, lending a helping hand, going to the casino and embracing each day with humility and grace. Though he may no longer be with us in body, the legacy he leaves behind—in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the love he gave—will continue to live on in his wife Letta, his children Kaitlyn, Leanna, and Mathew, and his beloved grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

There will be a celebration of his life held at a later date.
