Sherry Teresa
Casey
Aug 3, 1964 — Jul 20, 2025
Kingsland
Sherry (Nevill) Casey, age 60, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on August 3, 1964, in Macon, Georgia, Sherry was proudly presented with a silver cup and spoon as the first baby born in the new Riverside Hospital. At age five, she moved with her family to Kingsland, Georgia, where she grew up and made her home. After earning her Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Valdosta State College, Sherry spent many years working as an IRS auditor before retiring from the Internal Revenue
Service. Sherry was an active member of Kingsland First Methodist Church, where she faithfully volunteered in the nursery and served with love at the Harvest House Food Pantry. Her deep faith and commitment to serving others were evident in all she did, including her devoted work with the Walk to Emmaus community, where she worked tirelessly to bring people closer to Christ. Above all, Sherry's greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ben Casey; her children, Jarrett Peeples of Atlanta, GA, Tyler Peeples (Ashton) of Kingsland, GA, Olivia Supak (Brandon) of Atlanta, GA, and Jacob Casey (Stormy) of Kingsland, GA; and her six beloved grandchildren: Allison, Madison, Tucker, Norah, TJ, and Walker. She is also survived by her sister, Tracie Hartkemeyer of Jacksonville, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Judy Elerson of Blackshear, GA, and her brother, Terry Nevill.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Kingsland First Methodist Church, 120 E Williams Avenue, Kingsland, GA 31548.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kingsland First Methodist Church or the Harvest House Food Pantry, causes that were close to Sherry's heart.
Sherry will be deeply missed by her family, her church community, and all who knew and loved her.
Allison Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
