Sharon Ann Bowen, 74, of St. Marys, GA passed away on June 1, 2023 at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, FL.

Sharon was born on August 1,1948 in Brunswick, GA to the late Edison and Ruby George Peeples. She was a loving mother, enjoyed helping others and was a compassionate caregiver to her friends. Sharon loved being outdoors sitting on her dock and always paying it forward. She was always contributing to the food pantries in Camden County and  Co-Authored a book with Rosa Lee Kelley, Mindful of These Our Many Blessings...A social history of Camden County's people. She was an accountant for Gilman Paper Co where she retired from. Sharon volunteered with the Ladies Auxiliary for Southeast GA Health System- Camden Campus. She joined the program in August 2014 with over 3,000 hours being served. She spent a lot of her time in the gift shop but holding other positions and leading several fundraising efforts. Sharon was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of St. Marys, GA. where she was very involved with her church in every capacity. Sharon and her daughter Wendy created a Nativity ministry sharing and displaying over 500 nativities at different churches during the Christmas season.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Wendy Haymans (Eric) of Hampton, GA  and her granddaughter, Ashley Haymans of St. Marys, GA. Numerous cousins and other family members.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Barry Bowen.

A visitation will be at Allison Memorial Chapel on Monday June 5, 2023 from 5-7 pm.

A celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday June 6, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Allison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Rick Douylliez officiating. Burial will follow in Homeward Cemetery in Waverly, GA.
