Obituary

Ronald Earl Hutson, a cherished soul and beloved father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023, at the age of 73.

Born on September 9, 1950, in La Follette, Tennessee, Ron's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and kindness that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his mother, Verlia Hutson, Ron's legacy of love and compassion lives on through his daughters, Rhonda Jones and her husband Jonathan, Laura Gulleyand her husband Michael; his adoring grandchildren, Analyss, Madison, Aubrielle, Caitlin, Matthew, Olivia, Jackson, and Harper; and his cherished great-grandson, Atlas. His sister, Sharon Becerra, along with countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces,
nephews, and friends, will forever remember his warmth and generosity.

Ron was a devout Pentecostal and a lifelong member of Midway Church, forming a deep bond with the late Pastor Larry Busby. As a young man, Ron left the familiarity of Tennessee for Chicago, Illinois, where he honed his skills as a journeyman trailer mechanic. His work ethic and dedication were unmatched, qualities that he carried with him when he moved to St. Marys, Georgia in 2001 to be with his daughter. Ron's years working at the local Wal-Mart were marked by his unwavering kindness and genuine care for others. He never met a stranger and was loved dearly by his co- workers. His kindness was not just a trait but a way of life; he was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. His selflessness was his signature, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those he encountered. Beyond his work, Ron was a man of varied interests. He had a keen eye for collectibles, amassing an impressive array of Coca-Cola memorabilia, old Avon, and pop bottles. His love for movies was evident in his vast DVD collection, a testament to his appreciation for storytelling. Ron was more than the sum of his deeds; he was a beacon of light in the lives of many. His kind spirit, generous heart, and unwavering loyalty will be deeply missed but never forgotten. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire and guide us. The family has chosen to grieve privately. In lieu of flowers, they ask that, if you are able, you hug your dad.
