Robert Allen Fitzgerald, 74, of St. Marys passed away at his residence on August 2, 2021.

Robert was born on September 13, 1946 in Waynesboro, VA. and a resident of St. Marys, GA since 1988. Bob was a devoted and loving husband for 53 years to his wife Carolyn. He was a Veteran of Vietnam and served 22 years in the United States Navy. He retired as a Chief Boatswain mate for the sub base Kings Bay in 1992. After retirement, he worked for Kingsland Ford Mercury and Atlantic Auto brokers in St. Marys. He was a member of First Presbyterian church in St. Marys, American Legion post 311, Fleet reserve association branch 248, Fraternal Order of Eagles DAV, and VFW post 8313 in Kingsland.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Fitzgerald of St. Marys, Two children; Elizabeth Walker (Thomas) of Woodbine, Georgia and Noah Fitzgerald (Michelle) of Brunswick, Georgia. A brother, Edward Raleigh Fitzgerald of Waynesboro, Virginia. Grandchildren, Amanda Walker, Tyler Fitzgerald, Cody Walker and Shyann Walker.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Carl W. Fitzgerald & Dorothy E. Spicer and a grandson, Chadwick E. Walker.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 pm on August 14, 2021 at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, GA. Burial will be held in Augusta, GA at a later date.
