Obituary

Robbie Lee Porter, 67, passed away at his home in St. Marys, Georgia, on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

Robbie was born in Carrollton, Georgia, on November 25, 1955, to Lamon and Lillie Porter. Robbie dedicated his life to the safety and protection of his community. He began his distinguished career in law enforcement in 1975, after which he would go on to dedicate 39 years of service to the city of Carrollton. A highly respected figure within the Carrollton Police Department, Robbie is remembered by coworkers for his passion for the job, dedication to the officers he led, and the tremendous respect he had for the responsibility that his position as a public servant demanded. His innate sense of honor and integrity, along with his unwavering courage, guided him to overcome even the most difficult challenges law
enforcement officers face. His professional dedication was rivaled only by his love and commitment to his family. A true role model, his example instilled essential lessons of morality, compassion, and integrity in those closest to his heart. The love and support he provided will go on to shape the lives of multiple generations.

Robbie is survived by his beloved wife, Carrie Porter, of St. Marys, GA; his children, Allison Arstill and her husband, Joseph, of Navarre, FL;
Leigh Ann Porter of Carrollton, GA; and Christa Porter and her wife, Marilisa, of Stafford, VA. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Brittany
Noroña, Savannah Arstill, Landon Porter, Adrien Porter, Kannon Meade, and Zion Collins. He is further survived by his siblings Jerry Porter and his wife Mable of Panama City, FL, Jean Stamps of Muscadine, AL, Lamon "Mack" Porter of Roanoke, AL, and Joan Wingo of Rome, GA.

A memorial service will be held in Carrollton, Georgia, with details announced at a later date. In honor of Robbie's enduring love for all
