Richard J. Hayes, 61 of St. Marys, GA passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2023 at Southeast GA Health System- Camden Campus.

Richard was born on October 11, 1961 in Montour Falls, NY to the late Richard and Esther Wood Hayes. He enjoyed woodworking, landscaping, and spending time with his grandkids. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran where he worked as a MS in the military. He was a ex-police officer and worked various positions w/ MWR.

Richard is survived by his wife of 35 years, Anne Hayes. Children, Joshua Hayes, Amanda Hayes, Dr. Sarah Jillson (Garrett Gandia), Justin Hayes (Lauren). Siblings, Denise Hayes, Rebecca Smith, Colleen Clauson (Rick), and Dawn Hayes. Grandchildren, Dylan Cisco and Amelia Hayes, and Brayden Gandia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Esther Wood Hayes.

A visitation will be held on Thursday September 21, 2023 from 5- 6 pm. Memorial service will begin at 6:00 pm with Pastor James Ham officiating.
