Obituary

Patricia Ann Boden, 88, of St. Mary's, GA, passed at home peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025, with family and her husband Ken by her side.

Pat was born on May 23, 1937, to Ralph and Mildred Budd in Wichita, KS.  She graduated from Wichita West High School in 1953. She devoted herself to raising her children and her career during the years that followed.  She was married to Ken Boden on August 6, 1982.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mildred, and grandson Matthew Cleghorn.

She is survived by three children from a previous marriage, Craig, Bryan and Lori; and two children from Ken's previous marriage, Chris and Kim. She always referred to all five kids as "Our Family".  Additionally, she is survived by ten grandchildren, Nick, Christina, Erica, Jessica, Davin, Michael, Makayla, Zachary, Trevor and Kayle; and three great-grandchildren, Kayden, Kaliyah and Mabel.

Pat worked for McDonald's Corporation at the World Headquarters in Oakbrook, IL.  While at McDonalds Pat, earned a degree in accounting from Northwestern University.  She was extremely driven and worked her way into the top three of the U.S. McDonald's Accounting Department by 1977.  That same year Ray Kroc, Founder of McDonald's, initiated an annual performance award for U.S. McDonald's employees called the President's Award.  Pat was one of the first seven recipients to receive the award, with recognition for her outstanding management skills.
In 1982 Pat left McDonald's Headquarters, and with Ken, opened their first McDonald's franchise in Grand Rapids, MI.  Over the next 18 years the business grew to ten restaurants and received a Lifetime Award from McDonald's for Quality Restaurants, Customer Satisfaction and Community Activities.  In 1990, they founded the Western Michigan Ronald McDonald House in Grand Rapids, MI, and later Pat founded the Ronald McDonald Children's Charities for Western Michigan. Following her franchise career, she transitioned into real estate, acquiring her Real Estate Brokers License. Seven years later Pat moved with Ken to St. Mary's, GA, to retire in Osprey Cove, a community she loved and where Pat lived out her life with her husband Ken, and many visits from her family.
