During these years they were delighted to welcome their two children into the world, Kerry Ann Fusco and Thomas Patrick Fusco. When Louis transferred to Clark Air Base in the Philippines for three years, Nicole remained stateside for the first ten months, then travelled with their two children to the Philippines to join Louis. Louis and Nicole transferred to Schofield Barracks in Hawaii for the next three year assignment, where Nicole was a homemaker and active in her community church. They transferred to Arlington Hall in Arlington, VA where Nicole focused on children's care. They transferred for a second time to Hawaii for another three year assignment. During that time, Nicole began working at Tripler Army Medical Center Hospital. She learned the job and eventually took the nursing exam to become a licensed surgical nurse. Louis and Nicole transferred to Ft Gillem in Forest Park, GA and then to Forces Command at Fort McPherson in Atlanta, GA. While in Atlanta, Nicole worked for several years as a nurse at the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Decatur, GA. She spent time with her grandsons, Anthony and Josh while they were growing up. She remained involved with her local community including working as a substitute teacher in the Atlanta public school system. Shortly after moving to Kingsland, GA, Nicole became a Court Appointed Special Advocate looking out for the best interests of vulnerable children. Nicki attended Catholic services regularly at Kings Bay Chapel. She cherished the positive, giving community of people here, and greatly enjoyed teaching Sunday school and encouraging the youngsters.
