Maxyne Alice Kortemeyer, 101, passed away at Senior Care Center in St. Marys, GA on December 7, 2022.

Maxyne was born May 16, 1921, in Waterloo, Iowa. She is the daughter of William Harvey and Addie (Shepard) Ritchey. She graduated from West High School in 1940.  She married Richard (Dick) Kortemeyer on June 2, 1946, in Waterloo. Maxyne was the office manager at Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, PA, before retiring to Gulfport, FL.  She enjoyed traveling and was active in the Presbyterian church as a Stephen Minister.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Carl Kortemeyer.

Maxyne is survived by her three sons, Lee (Theresa) Kortemeyer of Lenexa, KS, Jay (Arlene) Kortemeyer of Wilmington, NC, and Craig (Laurie) Kortemeyer of Woodbine, GA; five grandchildren, James Eyraud (Maddy), Megan (Patrick) Riley, Jennifer Kortemeyer, Justin (Nikki) Eyraud, Laura (David) Montgomery; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be held in Waterloo, IA.
