Obituary

Mary Ellen Scott, 71; of St. Marys, Georgia, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, August 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her children, who were by her side. .

Mary Ellen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and caring nature touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Mary Ellen was the loving wife of the late William Scott. Together, they shared many years of life, love, and memories. She was an amazing mother and grandmother who loved her family deeply and always put the people she loved first. She spent many years working as a nurse, dedicating her life to caring for others. Her compassion and gentle heart made nursing more than just a career—it was a reflection of who she was. She was truly one of the sweetest and most caring people anyone could have the privilege of knowing. Mary Ellen was also a talented and creative woman. She loved sketching, painting, playing guitar, and singing. Her creativity and love of music brought joy to her life and to those around her. Those who knew Mary Ellen will also remember her strong-willed and stubborn nature and knew what she believed in and was not easily persuaded. That stubbornness was simply another part of the woman who made so many people laugh, love, and feel cared for. Above all, Mary Ellen was devoted to her family and was an amazing mother and grandmother who created memories that her loved ones will carry with them for the rest of their lives. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, creativity, and devotion to her family and will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Allison Memorial Chapel on Friday September 4, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
