Obituary

Mario Rene Izaguirre-Muñoz was born on March 4, 1947 in Chicacao Suchitepequez, Guatemala to Oscar Izaguirre-Garcia and Lubia Munoz, whom preceded him in death.

Family was always a focal point in Mario's life, which began early on as a child growing up with his siblings, Elsa, Jesus, Fito (deceased), Jaime and Ernesto (deceased) Izaguirre.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Ada I. Hernandez-Izaguirre. He leaves behind a legacy, including his children, Silvia Pekic, Lisa Singletary, Sarah Izaguirre, Johanna Izaguirre and Pajaro, along with grandchildren, Leticia Izaguirre, Erin Singletary, Vincent Izaguirre, Briana Pekic, Angel Izaguirre, Peyton and Sydney Singletary. We would be remiss not to mention a host of other cousins, nephews and nieces, he leaves behind, including Millie who was like a daughter, Ada's grandchild, Kaitlyn Stout, and his Viking family, the Wiseman's: Jimmy, Rhonda, Victoria, Lindsay, Noelle, Jack and Penelope, who all loved, honored and cared for him. During his early adulthood, Mario's faith and fortitude guided him to Los Angeles, California seeking a better life for him and his family. He traveled throughout the U.S. calling Virginia, New York and now Kingsland, GA home for different chapters of his life. We could tell you so much about our father, Mario, like he overcame a language barrier, lack of education and yet was one of most innovative carpenters, home builders and general jack of all trades in the field, but that is not what we will remember. What we do remember is this-there was a boldness about him in everything he did, but most importantly in his love of Christ. He filled a room with warmth, laughter and song. He loved, and loved hard. He spread the Gospel and praised even harder up until he was called home to be with his father, Jesus Christ, on November 17, 2023. While he is no longer in our physical presence, his song will carry us on forever. Sing louder, dad! We love you.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 10 a.m. ET at Lawnwood Cemetery located at 251 Hedge Street, Kingsland, Georgia. Pastor George Anderson will be officiating.

Allison Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
