Our beloved Luke Thomas Mercier left us on Monday, May 26, 2025. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 30, 1991. Luke moved with his family to Saint Marys, Georgia in 1998, and was baptized in the First Presbyterian Church by his grandfather Dr. George L. Balentine. He attended Camden County Schools where he graduated with honors in 2010 and was a proud member of the 2008 and 2009 back-to-back Wildcat state championship football teams. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat. Luke was a talented cook and baker. He mastered construction skills while assisting in the maintenance and repair of an historic home. Luke was a dedicated caretaker of the family dogs, enjoying their unconditional love.

Luke was preceded in death by his grandparents Dr. George and Sue Balentine, grandparents Alfred and Marilyn Mercier, Aunt Maureen Eslick and Uncle John Dougherty. Luke is survived by his parents, Fred and Beth Mercier, a brother and sister-in-law Ben and Crystal Mercier, niece Cora Mercier, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 2:00PM in the First Presbyterian Church, 100 Conyers Street E., Saint Marys, Georgia. A reception will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.
