Linda Mae Bassett, 80, of Kingsland, GA passed away on August 25, 2024 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA.

Linda was born on October 8, 1943 in Glennville, GA to the late Jo Henry Blocker and Ora Bell Lynn Blocker. She was a mortgage executive for Watson Mortgage and was a member of St Marys Methodist Church. She loved and supported the Humane Society and never met a stray that she didn't love. She was a loving wife, mom, meema, and friend.

Linda is survived by her husband, Lawton 'Gene' Bassett of Kingsland, GA. Daughters, Sabrina Lee (Tim Shilling) of Jacksonville, FL, Stephanie Carter of Jacksonville, FL, and April Tucker (Richie) of Tifton, GA. Son, Lawton E. Bassett, III (Alisha) of Tifton,GA. Grandchildren, Tiffany Shilling, Erica Gann (Mason), Kaitlin Tucker (Adam Spurlin), Le Bassett, IV (Miranda), and Annslee Bassett. Numerous cousins also survive.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son in law, Mike Carter.

Services will be held on Thursday August 29, 2024 at St. Marys Methodist Church with visitation at 10:00 am and funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Roy White officiating. Burial will be at the Glennville City Cemetery in Glennville, GA.

Active Pallbearers are Le Bassett, IV, Adam Spurlin, Mason Gann, Don Petrie, Jay Lassiter, and Jeremy Cole. Honorary Pallbearers are Moore Sunday School Class

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, Kingsland Humane Society, and St Marys Methodist Church Youth fund.
