Obituary

Leigh Susan Tilden, 65, of St. Marys, GA passed away October 14, 2021, unexpectedly of congestive heart failure at her residence.
Leigh was born December 12, 1955, in Summit, NJ, to Donald Addison Tilden and Elizabeth Ferrell Tilden formerly of Berkeley Heights, NJ.
Having lived in Sayreville and Matawan, NJ most of her adult life, Leigh resided in St. Marys for the past 2 years. She volunteered with various groups associated with the blind, and even though she was legally blind herself, she was an avid reader, who loved mystery novels and audio books. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, and listening to music. Leigh was a 1973 graduate of Governor Livingston Regional High School, and a 1978 graduate of Monmouth College, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She then studied in a Master's program in Psychology at Abilene Christian University, in Abilene, TX.
Leigh is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Tilden of St. Marys, sisters, KarenBeth Tilden (R. Alan Prochazka) of Hilton Head, SC, and Nancy Tilden Wencek of St. Marys, nephews, Robert Wencek, LT Raymond Bilter (Katie Beye), and Edward Burns II, and her niece, Elizabeth Burns (Deanna Kennett Burns).
Graveside service to celebrate Leigh's life, will be held Friday, October 29 at 11 am, Prospect Hill Cemetery, 37 Thomas Street (the Thomas St entrance), in Caldwell, NJ. Please contact her sister Kerry (or respond on the memorial page) if you plan on attending.
