Julia Catherine Watson, 106, of Kingsland, GA passed away at her residence on July 15, 2023.

Julia, native of Kingsland, GA was born on January 21, 1917 to Julia Catherine Gowen and William N. Casey. She was educated at Kingsland Elementary and High School where she graduated in 1933. She attended Georgia State Women's College, the University of Florida, and received her Master's Degree from Georgia Southern University. She retired from the Duval County School System in 1979. She was a member of Kingsland First Methodist Church, Friendship Sunday School Class, Earl of Camden Daughters of the American Revolution, and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 170.

She is survived by six nephews, William N. Casey of Monroe, Ga, Thomas G. Casey Jr., St. Mary's, Ga, John P. Casey, James A. Casey, Benjamin L. Casey, all of Kingsland, GA, and James J. Hightower of Charlotte, NC and two step children Henry Eugene Watson, Jr. and Caldonia Talley Watson Brownell.

Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Eugene Watson, Sr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Kingsland First Methodist Church.
