Joyce Crews Jones, 89; of St. Marys, GA passed away at Lakes Crossing on July 27, 2024.

Joyce was born on July 12, 1935 in Folkston, GA to the late Marshall Crews and Emma Crews. She was a homemaker and loved to have all her daughter's friends and neighborhood children at her house. She enjoyed having them over and they all knew it was always an open door. In her earlier years she enjoyed camping and sewing. Joyce was a member of the First Baptist Church and she loved her church family. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Sonya Mumford (Rob) of St. Augustine, FL and Shaye Wooten (Don) of Hewitt, TX. Sister, Sara Milburn of Cocoa Beach, FL. Grandchildren, Amber Jones (Reed), Tiffany Jones (Tyler), Jeffrey Wooten (Ellen), and Chelsea Lynn (Colton). Great Grandchildren, Hunter, Gabriel, Hallie, Easton, Luke, and Jake. Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Jones and her siblings, Virgil Crews, Vernon Crews, Grace Hendrix, and Luvona Blount.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of St. Marys with Pastor Steve Kegley officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time beginning at 1:00 pm. A private burial will be held in Sardis Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations can be made to First Baptist Church of St. Marys. The family would like to thank Lakes Crossing, Coastal Hospice, and Anthony & Pam Struble for their care for Mrs. Jones.
