"With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joshua Lee Smith, 21, of St. Mary's, GA, on May 24, 2025.

Josh was born on October 22, 2003 in Leesburg, Florida. Josh, as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in The Most High. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Joshua Lee Smith had a passion for fitness, fishing and sharing the love The Most High. Josh also found joy in music and the open road. He spent most of his free time surrounded by friends and family up and down the east coast from Charleston, South Carolina, St. Marys, Georgia and St. Augustine, Florida doing the things he enjoyed. After graduating from Camden County Highschool in May of 2022, Josh went to work for Hull Electrical, also known as HEU were he developed into a talented craftsman in the electrical field with a special ability to operate heavy machinery.

Josh was deeply loved by countless friends and those that knew him will remember him for his infectious smile and overwhelming laughter, his deep-rooted faith in his savior and his unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone he encountered. He had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

He is survived by his parents, Jason Smith and Angela Vansant Smith, Grandmother, Gloria Mcloud, Brother, Jacob Smith, Uncles, Douglas Vansant, Donnie Vansant (Lola), and Tim Goode (Ashley). Numerous cousins and other relatives.

A viewing will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 and the Memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm on Friday May 30, 2025 to celebrate Joshua Lee Smith's life at Agape Church 10600 Colerain Road. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Josh will be deeply missed but never forgotten by all who knew him.
