Joseph Thomas
Cade
Oct 20, 1978 — Apr 24, 2026
A son, brother, an uncle and a friend, Joseph Thomas Cade, 47, formerly of Houston, TX, succumbed his battle with cancer, completing the final leg of his journey home to his heavenly father on Friday April 24, 2026 at 3:37 pm at the Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA.
Joe was born on October 20, 1978 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV. He is the son of Dr. Thomas A Cade and the late Kathryn H Cade of St. Marys, GA. He is a graduate of Havelock High School in Havelock, NC and a Cum Laude graduate of Park University. Joe had a rewarding career with the Halliburton Corporation both on and off shore drilling. Joe will be remembered for his humor and light hearted practical jokes, but most of all his memory and keen ability to recall joyful stories from he and his siblings childhood and family history. This skill is a special trait reminiscent of his grandfather and namesake, Joseph Hodges. Joe was a passionate collector and restorer of vehicles, a hobby that he shared with his cousin and undoubtedly best friend, Peter Ritenour. Joe took life on his own terms, as much as he could, seeking high adventure and adrenaline at any and all turn. He sought this adventure, regardless of where his father's naval career took the family. Whether exploring the woods as a young boy, competing in school athletics, or sky diving as an Air Force ROTC Cadet, Joe always looked for a challenge. As an adult his thrill seeking continued while he traveled to compete in off-road vehicle competitions, civilian skydiving and even racing those muscle cars he was so passionate about. Joe had a heart as wide as the Grand Canyon and would help anyone in need, a trait he inherited and learned from his mother's teaching. From helping fix things, to opening up his home to friends in need, Joe's conviction to uplift had no end.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn H Cade, his maternal grandparents, Joseph E and Jean S Hodges and his paternal grandparents, Jack and Dorothy Cade.
In addition to his father, he leaves behind two sisters, Jennifer (Joshua) Stottlemyer and Rebecca (David) Henson. Additionally, he leaves behind six nieces and nephews, Abby Henson, Caroline Stottlemyer, Gabriel Stottlemyer, Andrew Henson, Aiden Henson and Aaron Henson.
Allison Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
