Obituary

J oan Lee Nestor, 69, of St. Marys, GA passed away at her residence on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

Joan was born in Clearfield County Pennsylvania on October 20, 1955, to Leroy Marshall Miller and Joann Pauline Salamone. As a teenager, Joan had to quit school to help take care of her siblings. In January of 1979 she completed her GED from Connely School of Education in Pittsburgh, PA. In May of 1989, she received her Associates Degree of Applied Sciences in Business Administration and then started working in the tax and bookkeeping field. In 2003, she started her own business in St. Marys and was very successful. Joan accepted Christ and was baptized and became a member of Victory Baptist Church, later to be known as Three Rivers Church.

She had an unwavering love for her family, ensuring that her mother, siblings and children were well cared for over the years. Joan was a loving mother spending countless hours always with care and understanding, helping her daughters navigate through life's challenges. She was an exceptional cook, especially loved to prepare for the holidays and taught her daughters all of her cooking and baking skills. Joan loved her husband Tim and was the best helper and companion that a man could ever have.

Although Joan had many physical problems and much pain over the last several years, she clung to her hope and faith in the Lord that she would be delivered from it. On February 20, 2025, Jesus fulfilled His promise to her and called her home. The family takes great comfort in the knowledge that she is now in no more pain. Joan, you are greatly missed by all those who have known you. We love you and have that hope in Christ that we will see you again in Glory.

Joan was preceded in death by her father and two brothers Bryan and David Miller. She is survived by her loving husband Tim; six daughters Dawn Lilly, Joanie Schwartz, Teresa Edison and her husband Daniel, Kristan Nestor, Susan Schwartz and Shaela Nestor; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her mother Joann Drummond; and her sister Elsie Jean Wise and her husband Barry; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 5:30 pm at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, GA. The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
