Howard David Gooden, 62, of Kingsland, GA passed away on January 29, 2025 at home surrounded by love following a short battle with returning cancer.

Howard was born on August 23, 1962 in Meyersdale, PA to the late James Sr. and Olive Gooden. Though a US Navy veteran, Howard "Dave" Gooden spent the last 25 years building a work family with Hal Jones Contractors out of Jacksonville, Fl as a Senior Foreman for many locations across the South East, contributing to many structures and working hard to support his family.

Affectionately referred to as "Dave" by most, his closest friends and family called him Howard, Son, Hubby, Daddy, Pappy, Pap, Happy, & Cornbread. He was absolutely devoted to his family, leaving a legacy and testimony to them of strength & perseverance. The strongest man that ever lived, he is returning home to be with our Lord & his beloveds.

He is survived by his three girls: Monica Wells (Benjamin) of Newport Center, VT, Jamie Palm (Nathan) of Kingsland, GA, and Heather Lane (Bobby) of Kingsland, GA. Grandchildren, Hunter Wells, Karsyn Palm, Rileigh Lane, Brantley Palm, Levi Lane, and Sawyer Palm. A sister, Sara Gooden of Clarkrange, TN and a brother, Daniel Gooden, of Louisa, VA along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, & lifelong friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 40 years, Barbara Gooden, & siblings James Jr., Linda & Pamela.
