Edith Darlene Cooner, age 68, of Douglas, GA, passed away on the morning of April 08, 2025, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA.

She was born on October 02, 1956, in Camden County. Preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Inez Cooner.

Survived by her siblings, Hilda Copeland of Lyons, GA, Patricia Crews of Kingsland, GA, and Larry (Darlene) Cooner of Screven, GA.

Survived by her children Paul (Marsha) Cooner of Douglas, GA, Denise (Johnny) Hersey of Nicholls, GA, Angela (Billy Peterson) Whitley of Douglas, GA, Teresa Whitley of Douglas, GA, and Brian Whitley of Douglas, GA.

Survived by her 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Edith lived most of her life in Bacon County, Alma, GA before moving to Coffee County, Douglas, GA.

Edith was a woman of few words, but those words were always kind. She was very humble and always had a smile and loved her children and family with all her heart. She loved crocheting and enjoyed doing word searches.

Visitation will be held at Allison Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in St. Marys, GA on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 5:30-7:00 pm.

Funeral service will be held at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, GA on April 11, 2025, at 9:00 am with Pastor Johnny Smith officiating. Pallbearers are Paul Cooner (Son), Johnny Hersey (Son-in-law), Phillip Sheffield (Grandson), Gaven Peterson (Grandson), Blake Hersey (Grandson), and Adam Music (Nephew).

Burial will be at Brazell-Peeples Cemetery, Kingsland, GA.

Though your smile is gone forever and your hand we cannot touch, we still have memories of the one we love so much. Your memory is our keepsake with which we will never part. God has you in His keeping. We have you in our heart.
