Dawn Joy Champion, 68, of St. Marys, GA passed away on May 7, 2026 at her residence.

Dawn was born on October 1, 1957 in Cleveland, OH to Kenneth Stahnke and Joann Biggam Stahnke. Dawn was a high school graduate and was a rural carrier for the US post office. She enjoyed volunteering at the Camden County Guild of St Marys, GA and at the Scrappy Rooster in Kingsland, GA. She also volunteered at Mary Lee Clark elementary school with her quilting skills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Champion.

Survivors are her children, Kyle Champion (Molly) of Camp Lejeune, and Colton Champion (Briana) of Columbus, GA. Siblings, Sheila Hill of Montgomery, TX and Ruth Stahnke of Nacogdoches, TX. Nieces, Claire Fleming, Rachel Hill, and Emily Hill all of Texas. Grand kitties, Ramses, II, and Isis.

A celebration of life for Dawn will be held on Friday May 15, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, GA.
