Daniel "Dan" Arthur Rumptz, 81, passed away on July 8, 2023.

His parents were the late Henry and Sylvia Rumptz. He grew up in Detroit, Michigan and pursued an education earning a Master's Degree in Mathematics and a Degree in Theology. He taught briefly at Notre Dame High School in Detroit Michigan and Yulee High School in Yulee, Florida. He then moved to Camden County, Georgia in 1974 to begin a career at Gilman Paper Company where he worked as an environmental engineer in the lab. He retired from Gilman and lived his retirement enjoying travel, photography, and golf. He was a life long learner who was always pursuing knowledge and personal growth.

Dan was also a recovering alcoholic with recently achieving 30 years of sobriety. During this time, he sponsored many individuals and was very involved in Alcoholics Anonymous. He experienced a change in the way he lived his life. He worked with others to not only go through the steps of AA, but to also change how they lived their life. He was not a religious man, but was devoutly spiritual.

He was survived by his siblings: Tim (Karen) Rumptz and Mary (Sam) Perri. His daughters: Sarah (Nathan) Johnsen, and Anne (Brian) Miceli. His grandchildren: Abigail (Zach) Abel, Tripp Peeples, Brenna Johnsen, Miles Johnsen, and Elijah Miceli. And great grandchildren: Thomas Abel, and Maddox Abel.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Crooked River State Park (Group Shelter 2).
