Cynthia Lynn
Chapman
Jul 6, 1963 — Sep 19, 2026
Kingsland
Cynthia “Cindy” Lynn Chapman went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love and faith.
Cindy was born on July 6, 1963, in Douglasville, Georgia, to Robert Hugh Chapman and Dorothy Lee Chapman Smith. In 2011, she began serving as a foster parent and opened her heart and home to more than 75 children. One of her greatest desires was to become a mother, and fostering gave her the opportunity to love and care for many who were impacted by her love. Through fostering, she was blessed to officially become a mother when she adopted her three daughters, Alexis, Lindsey, and Bella. She considered that the best day of her life—other than the day she began her relationship with the Lord.At the age of 15, Cindy, who always had a love for children and young people, began serving in youth and children’s ministries in the Church of God of Prophecy, the church she loved so much. She served in several capacities, including Children’s Minister, Youth Minister, State Youth Minister, and many other roles. Throughout her life, she impacted the lives of many. She especially loved camping ministry and became a beloved figure in the history of Camp Echeconnee, where she served for more than 45 years. Laughter was also an important part of Cindy’s life. She loved making people laugh and bringing joy to those around her. She could take an otherwise simple moment and transform it into a comedy show. For several years, she even embraced the life of a clown, using her humor and joyful spirit to brighten the lives of others.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father; her mother; her brother, Christopher Hugh Chapman; and her sister, Belinda Sue Chapman Wiggins.
She is survived by her daughters, Alexis Chapman, Lindsey Chapman, and Bella Chapman; her brother, Alan (Sandy) Chapman; and her sister, Becky Chapman. She is also survived by several nieces, one nephew, several great-nieces and great-nephews, and many other family members who loved her dearly.
They are joined by countless friends who will anxiously wait to see Cindy’s contagious smile again in a great heavenly homecoming. Because Cindy was loved by so many, two Celebrations of Life will be held.
The first will take place at St. Marys Church, located at 101 Pine Street, St. Marys, Georgia, on October 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends at 1:00 pm.
The second will be held at Douglasville Church of God of Prophecy, located at 8310 Duralee Lane, Douglasville, Georgia, on October 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends at 1:00 pm.
