Catherine Arlene Shirley, 89, of Kingsland, GA passed away on October 18, 2024 in Fernandina Beach, FL.

Arlene was born in Ullin, Illinois but lived the majority of her life in the southeast.  She had been a resident of Camden county for 37 years. Arlene's greatest earthly joy was found in her family.  She was known, and deeply loved by her family and friends as mom, Nena, grandma and Aunt Sissy.  Her beauty was in her sweet smile, her open arms, her love of family and her most gracious southern hospitality.  Arlene was a longtime member of Kingsland First Baptist Church.  She loved Jesus and has now gained an eternity with her Lord.

Arlene was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She is survived by her three daughters: Teresa (Craig) Mahaffie, Cindy (Steve) Banta, Jamie (Darryll) Ownings.  Additionally, her seven grandchildren: Justin (Shauna) Mahaffie, Rayel (Brad) Mulvihill, Savanah (Taylor) Warren, Megan (Cory) Ramsey, Kaitlin Owings, Westly (Dakota) Owings, Shelby Banta and eleven great-grandchildren are all counted as blessings in her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arley and Georgia Baker, eight siblings and spouse Jimmy Shirley.

She was interred at Jacksonville National Memorial Cemetery. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held in her honor at a later date.
