Obituary

Carolyn Marie Pittman Johnson, 78, of Kingsland, Ga., passed away peacefully Saturday June 21, 2025, at PruittHealth - St. Marys. She was born November 15, 1946, in McCaysville, GA, to the late Otis and Ethel Flowers Pittman. She was a 1964 graduate of West Fannin High School, attending Young Harris College before moving to Atlanta to pursue working in office administration, which she continued both in volunteer and paid positions for over 50 years. Notably, she was the bookkeeper at WECC The Lighthouse for 30 years.

Leading beside her late husband, Jim Johnson, as he pastored and served the congregations of New Covenant Christian Center in Valdosta, GA, New Testament Christian Center in Madison, FL, and Agape Christian Fellowship of St. Marys. Carolyn loved her family, her church family, community. She enjoyed writing, bookkeeping, and serving in whatever capacity she could. She loved Camden County, boldly proclaiming it was the best place on earth to live.

She is survived by her daughters, Stacey Burns (Daniel Burns) and Melissa Saidoo (Sean Saidoo); and five cherished grandchildren, Kevin Burns, Katie Burns, Kristin Burns, Ethan Rodgers, and Eve Rodgers. She also leaves behind her brother Jim Pittman (Norma Pittman), two loving nephews, and a niece as well as extended family and friends.
