Carol Ann
Higgins
Oct 23, 1946 — Sep 30, 2024
Carol Ann Higgins, beloved mother to three children: Kenneth Higgins (55), Valerie Blatz (53), and Tanya Higgins (51), passed away at home on September 30, 2024, leaving a void her family cannot fill.
She was born in Newark, NJ in 1946 to Ronald and Wilhemia Scott. Carol enjoyed traveling up and down the east coast of the United States with her family when she was a child. She would later move to Cape Town, South Africa with her family where she enjoyed numerous safaris and traveling throughout Europe and Asia. Carol would share some of her wonderful adventures with her loving family and friends.
Carol had a love for soccer and has touched many people with her compassion for the sport. She played, coached, developed a soccer magazine for Florida soccer enthusiasts (Florida Soccer Network), was the State Women's Coordinator for Florida, helped sponsor Ireland for the World Cup (1994), and was mentioned during the opening ceremonies in Los Angeles, CA as the soccer ambassador for female soccer because of all of her work promoting soccer in Florida. She has many fond memories of her years being involved in soccer and cherished the friendships that she made.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Wilhemia Scott, and is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Catherine Scott, son Kenneth Higgins, daughters Valerie Blatz and Tanya Higgins, her granddaughters Kimberly Blatz and Abigail Soukup McGill, grandson Anthony Blatz, and her great granddaughter London Blatz whom she lovingly called "Dr. London."
Carol wants to be remembered for her exhilaration of being alive every day and for touching people in a positive way. "Keep love and laughter in your heart and your body and mind will always dance." As Pierre de Chardin said "We are not human beings on a spiritual journey, we are spiritual beings on a human journey."
We will be holding a scattering of her ashes on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at sunrise with a Celebration of Life Luncheon for Carol at the Beaches at Vilano restaurant at 11:00 am.
