Betty was born in Wyandotte, MI on April 15, 1953 to the late Grady A and Mary F. Lunsford. Betty was a high school graduate and worked in Logistics in the military for the United States Marine Corp. She was known as the "Dragon Lady" from her fellow Marines. She was very tough with her job and also gentle and kind. She was very proud to be a Marine for 16 years and after retiring she worked at a preschool where she loved being around the children. She also worked for Honeywell in supply/logistics for 16 years. A member of the First Baptist Church in Kingsland, GA where she was very involved in her church. She loved to do arts and crafts and the most beautiful work. She loved her family and especially being a Mamaw to her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her husband, RMCS (SS) Robert  "Bob" E. Roush, III USN Ret; Children, Paula Groover (Michael Groover, SSgt USMC Ret) from Goodyear, AZ, and Kassie Hansen (Adam Hansen) from Jacksonville, FL. Siblings, Sue Marsee, Tanya MAcJarrett both from MI, Grady Lunsford (Sherry) from Black Mountain N.C, Mike Miller from TN, and Lucian Fraley (April) from WV. Grandchildren, Madison Groover, Lorelei Groover, Cheyenne Groover, Braden Hansen, Kaylee Hansen, and Chase Hansen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, MGySgt Paul Seymour.

A visitation will be held on Thursday May 4, 2023 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at  Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, GA.
