Myrick
Oct 7, 1931 — Nov 11, 2023
Betty E. Myrick, born on October 7, 1931, left this world on November 11, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 92 years old.
Betty is survived by her devoted daughter, Cathy Thomas, and cherished granddaughters Christina Reynolds (Michael) and Holli Thomas (Albert). Her legacy lives on through her beloved grandchildren Megan, Jessie, Austin, Justin, and Heather, as well as several great-grandchildren.
Betty was a resilient and hardworking woman who, throughout her life, demonstrated unwavering dedication to her family. She outlived all six of her siblings, her mother Bessie Swain, and her father Bennie McDonald. Her strength and perseverance were evident in the love and care she provided for those around her. A loving and nurturing soul, Betty was not only a remarkable mother but also an incredible cook and grandmother. Her kitchen was a place filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of delicious meals. Betty's love for her family knew no bounds, and she took immense joy in creating lasting memories with them. Betty faced the challenges of life with grace and resilience. Despite the loss of her son Wayne Griffin and her husband Benton Griffin many years ago, she continued to find joy in the simple pleasures of life. Betty's home in Patterson, GA, was a haven where family gathered, laughter echoed, and love flourished. She had a passion for the outdoors, particularly fishing, and enjoyed spending quality time with her family. Playing cards, watching scary movies and old westerns, and sharing stories were among her favorite pastimes, creating bonds that will be cherished for generations to come.
In honoring Betty E. Myrick's memory, let us remember the love she shared, the strength she embodied, and the joy she brought to the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal love of those who hold her dear in their hearts.
A private burial for family will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery.
