On Sunday, April 5, 2026, at 5:15PM, after a long and bountiful life, Betty Jane Battle Glass—respected mother of three, grandmother of four, great-grandmother of four, and confidant to countless friends— left this world and enjoyed her reward in the embrace of Jesus Christ. The final stage of her journey on Earth began on Good Friday and ended on Easter Sunday, congruent with the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Betty Jane was born on April 27, 1943, in Marianna, Florida. She was married for 21 years to William Franklin Glass, and they raised three children: William Wesley Glass, Alan Franklin Glass, and Amy Darlene Glass Garcia. While preceded in death by her husband and eldest son, her remaining children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will always remember her for her strong will and personality, her numerous anecdotes about growing up in challenging times, and the hardships she had to endure to become who she was. She sacrificed much in order to secure the blessings upon her children, for which they will be eternally grateful.

In her later years, Betty enjoyed watching classic movies and shows, reading her Bible, following sermons online, and writing religious poetry and songs. She was a southern cook at heart and willingly contributed to charitable efforts, despite her own limited worldly possessions. Her proudest achievement was her three wonderful children. Betty was not alone during her final hours. Many family members surrounded her with love. She passed away peacefully and painlessly. Bettys loved ones shall never forget their mother, grandmother, and friend.

Graveside service will be held on Friday April 10, 2026 at 11:00 am in Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland, GA.
