Art was born in Cartersville, Ga and was raised in Aurelia, Iowa. He attended the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas with a degree in business. He was active in the Phi Beta Lambda where he was president. He was active in the Republican party, NRA, and loved history, especially WWII. He loved when his grandchildren called him "Papa".  Art had lived in St. Marys for the past seven years coming from Dunwoody, GA. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of St. Marys. He was a member of the vestry and mens club.

Survivors are his wife, Nina Leonard of St. Marys, Ga,  two daughters, Gretchen Aylor of Renton, Washington, Veshan Branham of Villa Rica, Ga. A brother, Fraser Leonard of St. Charles, Missouri.

Grandchildren, Connor Leonard, Soleil Leonard, Lily Aylor, Tori Branham, Harley Runion & Katelyn Honea. Great- Grandchild, Corbin Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Iverson & Mary Leonard, a son, Jason Harris Leonard and a brother, Iverson Leonard.

A Memorial service will be held on September 1, 2021 at Christ Episcopal Church St Marys at 3:00 pm.
