Alice Janet Brown Howard, 81 of St. Marys, GA passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

Known to most by Janet, Alice was born in Browntown (Kingsland), GA on October 13, 1942 to James Carl and Era Mae Brown.

Janet was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved her family above all else and spent her life attending to the needs and comfort of others. In addition to her family, she worked as a medical receptionist for many years and extended her care to many members of the community.

She was a long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served often in the church. She held many roles in the church, including teaching Sunday School and early-morning seminary. Janet was known for deep knowledge of the scriptures and her talent for instructing others.

She is survived by her brother James Carl Brown, Jr., her sister Mary Beth (Brown) Chauncey, and her children Marty (Brenda) Howard, Richard (Brenda) Howard, and Amy (Christopher) Walker and eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, JC and Era Mae Brown.

A visitation will be held at Allison Memorial Chapel on Tuesday January 23, 2024 from 4:00 to 5:00 and service to start at 5:00 pm. A private burial will be held in Kettle Creek Cemetery in Waycross, GA.
