Alex Frederick
Brown
Oct 2, 1998 — May 26, 2026
Alex Frederick Brown, 27, of St. Marys, GA passed away on May 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on October 2, 1998, in Jacksonville, FL. Alex lived a life marked by resilience and an unwavering spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. Alex graduated from the University of South Carolina, where he developed a deep and lasting devotion to the Gamecocks. Following his graduation, he began a career as an apprentice with Trident Refit Facility, where he was respected by colleagues and valued for his dedication. He was a member of First Baptist Church in St. Mary's, GA.
A passionate history and sports enthusiast in every sense, Alex carried his love of athletics with him wherever he went. Whether cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks, following the Boston Red Sox through every season, roaring for the Jacksonville Jaguars or watching Crystal Palace English Football, his enthusiasm was infectious. Sports were more than a pastime for Alex; they were a source of joy, connection, and endless conversation with family and friends. Those who knew Alex best would speak of his easy going nature and his remarkable ability to face life's greatest challenges without complaint. Even throughout his illness, Alex met each day with a smile and his quiet strength and genuine warmth left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
Alex is survived by his parents, Michael and Kim Brown; his brother, Walker Brown; his grandparents Janet Smith of Kingsland, GA and Kenneth and Montine Johnson of McRae GA; his uncle, Chris Johnson (Angel) of Brunswick, GA and his Aunt, Kendra Daves (John) of Lincolnton NC.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Chelsea Brown, and his grandfathers, Thomas Brown and Marvin Smith.
May Alex find eternal peace and rest in the arms of a loving God, reunited with those who went before him. His light, though extinguished far too soon, will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved him. The family would like to thank the University of Florida Gainesville Pediatric Oncology/Hematology, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, and Heartland Hospice for their care for Alex.
