Alan
Fischer
Jul 20, 1942 — Apr 29, 2025
St. Marys
Alan Fischer, 82, of St. Marys, GA passed at his residence on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
Alan Fischer was born July 20, 1942.
He spent his childhood growing up on the North Shore of Chicago.
Graduating from New Trier High School, he went on to earn a Fine Arts Degree from Parsons College, where he famously kept his own horse. After graduation he pursued careers in hotel management (his first love) and sales. Selling continued to be Alan's calling as he worked for Texas Instruments and Leviton Manufacturing. After relocating to South Florida with his best friend June, Alan joined Bryant Electric. Life in Florida afforded Alan the opportunity to pursue one of his other great loves - sailing.
Several years later he left Bryant Electric to take a leading role in growing Palco Electric, a supplier of electrical products to builders and wholesale agencies. Alan's next adventure took him to Atlanta where he enjoyed selling products to Home Depot and decided to become an auctioneer and real estate agent. After a trip to Jekyll Island, Alan and June discovered Osprey Cove and he and his best friend Roger, a broker, started Barnett and James Luxury Properties in 2006. No matter where he went, Alan's defining feature was an ability - and tendency - to strike up a conversation with absolutely everyone.
Alan's enduring conviviality is best expressed in his trademark elevator pitch: "I am a salesperson." He will be deeply missed by the many who knew him.
Allison Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
